Yuuloracingtips Sunday Selections from ParisLongchamp

Lord Seymour Stakes (Listed) 12.58
Mont De Soleil
Mont De Soleil has been supplemented for this Listed race by connections, and with a good record fresh does look the one to beat. This Siyouni gelding was last seen finishing sixth in a Group 3 at Baden-Baden, though that was a better result than it looks in a blanket finish, where just four lengths separated those first six. Alain Couetil’s Jordanella didn’t find much last time out at Saint-Cloud, but should come on for that run and can come closest to Mont De Soleil.

Jacques Laffitte Stakes (Listed) 1.33
First Look
It looks as if Andre Fabre is giving First Look a boost to the confidence, after finishing second to stablemate Map Of Stars last month. Having finished a very good second to Look De Vega in the French Derby, the Prix du Jockey Club last year at Chantilly, this Lope De Vega colt was bought up by the ambitious Wathnan Racing team, and remained in Group contests for the remainder of the season. To get First Look back on the winning path, Andre Fabre has lowered his sights to this Listed contest, and he should be winning this.

Prix de Fontainebleau (Group 3) 2.50
Misunderstood (nb)
The Prix de Fontainebleau can go to Mario Baratti’s Misunderstood. This Hello Youmzain colt ran a cracker in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere last season on Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe day, just 2 lengths behind Aidan O’Brien’s Camille Pissarro and a neck short of Rashabar. That is very, very good form to bring to this Group 3, and if he has trained on, then surely one of the Classics is the next stop. Cristian Demuro takes over on the reins, and I think that Misunderstood will be too strong for Christopher Head’s Maduro, and Alicja Karkosa’s Heybetti, with Darius Cen also not just making up the numbers.

Prix de la Grotte (Group 3) 3.25
Zarigana (nap)
My banker for Sunday has to be Francis-Henri Graffard’s Zarigana. This Siyouni filly is a Granddaughter of the brilliant Zarkarva, and was only beaten once in three starts last season, in the Group One Prix Marcel Boussac, so comes here with a full set of credentials. Social media influencer, Basher Watts, runs one of his syndicate horses, Shes Perfect, who does have entries for the French 1,000 Guineas, the Poule d’essai des Pouliches, and the French Derby, the Prix du Jockey Club, so this Group 3 looks a good starting point if she’s going to feature in those Classics. However, taking on Zaragina is a big ask, but it’s encouraging to see this new syndicate roll the dice. Zaragina to show her quality for me.

Prix Noailles (Group 3) 4.00
Aidan’s Phone
I’m going to take a chance on Patrice Cottier’s Aidan’s Phone for this Group 3. He’s been putting in a good run of wins, though on ground with plenty more cut in than he’ll find here at Longchamp, so that does ask a question, but form is form, so I’ll take my chance. Yann Barberot’s Rafale Design finished last year with two wins on the all-weather, but did so in some style, and it remains to be seen whether the return to turf will work. Tito Mo Cen is another that comes with strong PSF form, but if Aidan’s Phone can perform on this good ground, he’s the one to follow.
