Yuuloracingtips Selections for Sunday 6th April 2025

Yuuloracingtips Sunday selections from ParisLongchamp, Fairyhouse & Cork

ParisLongchamp

Prix la Force (Group 3) 2.50
New Ground
I did like Henri-Francois Devin’s New Ground last season, he showed a real battling quality to fend off Good Speed at Chantilly last October. If he has trained on, and that’s always the question with these three year olds, I think he can have a good campaign, starting here. Similarly, Mario Baratti’s Nizam impressed as a two year old, although you’d think as a Pinatubo colt, this 9 furlong trip might be a stretch, but he did achieve the highest rating in his two wins last season. New Ground for me to come on, and Nazim to be right there too.

Al Shira’aa Racing Prix Vanteaux (Group 3) (Fillies) 3.25
Flaming Stone
This Group 3 can go to Flaming Stone, who showed plenty of pace to win at Saint-Cloud last month. Having a run in her legs gives her an edge over Francis-Henri Graffard’s Mandanaba, who makes her turf debut here. There’s some well bred types on show, and a most instructive early season race to shuffle your cards for later dates.

Prix d’Harcourt (Group 2) 4.00
Map Of Stars (nb)
Map Of Stars has already put one in the book this season, beating stablemate First Look by three quarters of a length at Saint-Cloud, so gets the vote to take the Prix d’Harcourt. Of course, Horizon Dore will employ the usual tactics and dash down the outside with a late run, while British raider, Jack Channon’s Certain Lad won the La Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte here back in September, so must also be considered. Map Of Stars is the one for me, with Horizon Dore chasing him right to the line.

Fairyhouse

Paddy Kehoe Suspended Ceilings Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) 2.35
Joystick
He took a while to get it all together over the hurdles, but lost the maiden tag at Naas in January, and I think that he can double up the wins here. He bumped into a good one from Gordon Elliott’s yard last time out, but has had more of a break than likely favourite, Wingmen, also from the Cullentra stable. Wingmen had quite a hard race in the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival, and that could be enough to make the difference. Ballygunner Castle makes the three, but I’ll take my chance with Joystick.

Donohue Marquees Novice Hurdle (Grade 2) 3.37
Karniquet (nap)
Fourth in the Supreme Novices’ at the Cheltenham Festival sets a standard for this Grade 2. If fully recovered from that Festival opener, it’s hard to see anything good enough in this field, though stablemate Gaucher won the Kingsfurze last time out, and should make a race of it. Irancy was also in the Supreme, but was a bit keen for me, so it’s Karniquet that caught my eye then, and I’ll back him again here.

Cork

Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cork Stakes (Listed) 3.25
Easy
I’m going to take a chance on Andrew Slattery’s Easy for this Listed contest. She won this race last year returning from a long break, but that’s the time to catch her looking back, so I think she might spring the surprise on Will McCreery’s Vespertilio, and Paddy Twomey’s King Cuan, who finished on a tremendous run in October of 2023, but hasn’t been seen since. Easy to back up the record going fresh, with Vespertilio second best.

Irish Stallion Farms EBF Noblesse Stakes (Listed) (Fillies) 3.57
Sea The Boss
There’s going to be plenty of support for Dermot Weld’s Elizabeth Jane, and her record is very solid. Fourth in the Irish Oaks last year, she finished on a high with a Listed win at Leopardstown in October. However, I’ll take the chance on Jessica Harrington’s Sea The Boss, who although was down the field in her first try at this trip, in the Group One Prix Vermeille, should have enough in the pedigree to see this 12 furlong distance out. Sea The Boss’s best work has been on better ground, so I think she’ll come home ahead of Elizabeth Jane.
